Vibrat-Ion Technical Leadership Training for Researchers

Published by vibrat-ion on

We have developed a training course to provide invaluable Technical Leadership skills to Researchers – using techniques, approaches and strategies that we use every day and have done for over 20 years.

There are lots of online resources for developing skills in project management and technical leadership, but these are almost always focused on managing or leading projects in areas like software or product development, or in infrastructure, like building work.  But, research projects are often very different and the techniques and strategies used for management of conventional projects are just not a good fit for the leadership or management of research projects.

โ€œThis was a problem I recognised years ago, when I was working for the Ministry of Defence.  I was tasked with developing a framework for technical leadership of research projects based on the concepts of Systems Thinking – and then delivering it as training to early career researchers.  This has evolved into an approach I refer to as the Iterative Cyclical Framework; it is genuinely an approach I use every day and now I can’t imagine not having it in my skill set.

I have been providing training in this method since 2007 and I’ve delivered it to well over 1000 researchers in that time.โ€ David Kilgour, Head of Research for Vibrat-Ion.

For groups of five or more, we can come to deliver this training at your company.  If you wish to apply individually, the nature of this course is that it works best when delivered in groups, therefore we will arrange training weeks as and when we have enough individual applicants to allow the course to operate.
